STEVE FORTIN

Born in 1980, Steve (Joystick) was introduced to electronic music at a psychedelic trance party in 1999. He flirted with varying styles of music, wandering from psychedelic to electro and eventually fell in love with techno.

He began DJ'ing in 2003 and was influenced by the likes of Mini, Misstress Barbara, Mateo Murphy, Preach, Chris Liebing and Len Faki. In 2006 he co-founded the Eresys collective with his friends Ben, Fred and Francois, whereby he assisted in promotion and production of their events. He has collaborated with artists such as Alexi Delano, Pheek, Seth Troxler, Mightykat, Maus and many DJs from the Montreal scene.

His DJ sets are noted to laden with harmonies, all the while remaining progressive and dancefloor-oriented. In 2008, he began producing and was heavily influenced by the deep and hypnotice side of techno such as is propagated by labels such as Drumcode, Sci+Tec, C.L.R, Trapez, Exentric & Hell Yeah.

He signed his first EP with Doot records (Italy) with his partner Kressel, then shortly thereafter with Malatoid, MBD, Aenaria & Moditech. His tracks have been supported by Presslaboys,Wehbba, Joseph Capriati, Ricky Montanari, Monika Kruse, Steve Lawler, Luca Ricci, Dyno, M.I.D.I, Steve Parker, D-Unity, to name a few.
